I am pleased to announce that the new bus terminal at Somerset-Bridlewood LRT Station is now available to the public for use! The loop provides a closer, safer and more convenient access to the C-Train station for Transit customers. It will also resolve long-standing safety concerns at the station caused by jaywalking near the rail crossings, as well as avoid the need for customers to cross the busy Shawville Gate street. I would just like to take the time to update you on the Anderson Pedestrian Overpass on Anderson Road S.W. near 37 Street S.W. With construction well underway, we are seeing much more infrastructure in our City's SW. With the bridge foundations complete and retaining walls nearing completion, the main steel arch of the overpass has been delivered and is undergoing final inspection and painting. As we approach the start of the Government of Alberta’s construction on the Southwest Calgary Ring Road (SWCRR) in late 2016, I am pleased to announce to my constituents that The City has begun work on its SWCRR-related projects. With each City project having its own timeline over the next four years, I will be updating and talking with communities and residents throughout the different design and construction phases.
