The City of Calgary’s Roads Business Unit has finalized the annual Pavement Rehabilitation Program schedule for 2017. I am pleased to announce that there are roads in Ward 13 that have been selected for pavement rehabilitation and repair throughout the upcoming summer months. Roads strives to keep Calgarians moving, and infrastructure operating at peak efficiency. Last year as I cycled around the south end of the city, I came across some safety hazards on the 14th  Street / Glenmore Trail pedestrian bridge where I felt a couple of safety measures were necessary. In the coming weeks, ATCO Gas employees or contracted crews will be completing work in your neighbourhood relating to the installation of new low-pressure gas lines and relocating high-pressure natural gas lines away from residential areas to non-residential areas alongside ring roads (Transportation Utility Corridors). This project is part of ATCO’s Urban Pipeline Replacement Program and is necessary to improve Calgary’s natural gas distribution system and meet growing demands for safe and reliable natural gas service for Alberta’s largest centres. I would just like to take the time to update you on the Anderson Pedestrian Overpass on Anderson Road S.W. near 37 Street S.W. With construction well underway, we are seeing much more infrastructure in our City's SW. With the bridge foundations complete and retaining walls nearing completion, the main steel arch of the overpass has been delivered and is undergoing final inspection and painting.
